Biography* Irene Hannah Dolson Mulcahy Quam, 1913-1997:
Born in Nebraska, by 1920 Irene's mother was remarried to Roy O. Fisk, a farmer, and the family was living at 120 North Kline Street in Aberdeen, Brown County, South Dakota. Irene, age five, had a younger brother Harvey Dolson, age three, and two step-brothers, Harold and Lloyd Fisk, ages six and four. Irene's maternal grandmother, Hannah McBride was living with the family. By 1930, the family was farming in Lodi township, Columbia County, Wisconsin. Irene and Roy had a son of their own, Robert Fisk, born circa 1922. Later, Irene was employed by the Mendota Mental Health Institute in Dane County, Wisconisn for 23 years. She belonged to the Quilting Group and the Priscilla Circle organizations of her church. Irene also was a member of the West Side Hummel Club and TOPS number 696.

Irene, 84, died at home on a Tuesday after a short illness. She was survived by her second husband Charles Quam, two sons, many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and one brother Robert (Barbara) Fisk of Green Valley, Arizona. Was preceded by five children and one brother Harvey Dolson. Her funeral was held on Friday from Lake Edge Luthern church with Rev. Robert T. Voss and Rev. Richard O. Blomker officiating.
