Biography* Mary Margaret Hutter Frey, 1888-1967:
Christened Mary Margaret Hutter at Saint Luke's in Plain, Wisconsin, on 2 April 1888, she was sponsored by her cousin George Hess and her aunt Josephine Hess. In later years, she went by her middle name, Margaret. In 1900, she was living with her god-mother aunt, her mother having died in 1896. According to family lore, circa 1936, Margaret ran-off with a shoesalesman taking her two children with her. She landed in Missoula, Montana where she spent the rest of her days. Margaret never married the salesman and at her death was listed as a widow residing at the Royal Manor Rest Home in Missoula. She had been employed as a waitress in a restaurant.

Margaret, age 79 and a resident of Royal Manor Rest Home, died on a Tuesday of cerebral thrombosis and arteriosclerosis. She had suffered from the latter for five years, from the former for two months. Margaret was attended by Dr. N. S. Green of Missoula. The funeral was held on Friday. Geraghty funeral home of Missoula was in charge of arrangements.
