Biography* Elsie R. Zarski Endres, ca1909-1934:
Elsie was the youngest of five children in 1910 and the fourth daughter. She and her siblings were first generation German-Americans. Her father, who immigrated in 1891 worked in a wheel shop. Her mother immigrated in 1891 also. Elsie's parents were married in the U.S.A. circa 1896. The family lived in a house they owned with mortgage at 6527 Philetus Ave SE in Cleveland's 17th ward.

Elsie, 26, died at Cleveland City hospital (on Scanton Road?) on a Saturday of pulmonary tuberculosis. In her death cert, Elsie's residence was listed as 14416 Dover Avenue, East Cleveland which today is a private house. Elsie's husband was residing at 3495 Edison Road, Cleveland Heights. Elsie had been admitted to the hospital on 17 August - about 13-months after the onset of symptoms. Dr. J. K. Sullivan of City hospital was the attending physician. Elsie was survived by her husband, one son, three sisters and one brother. The funeral was held from the Edison Road house to St. Gregory's Church on Tuesday. Brickman Funeral Home, 7208 Superior Avenue was in charge of arrangements.
