Biography* Cornelius Hanly, 1850-1923:
His father Michael gave the Fantane farm to Cornelius and his wife Margaret. Unfortunately, Cornelius had drinking and gambling problems. Sometime after 1911, his brother James' daughter, Mary, acquired the farm presumably by paying off Cornelius' debts. In 1911, there were four houses in Fantane. The Hanley house was a 2nd class house made of stone with thach roof, 5 rooms and 3 windows in front. The other three houses, occupied by the Hickey, Quinlan, and Hogan families all were 2nd class also.

Cornelius, age 73, died on a Sunday of rheumatism. A Maggie Fahey of Knockalton Upper (this may have been his daughter - her husband may have been from Knockalton) was the informant on the death cert.

Biography* Margaret Delaney, 1815-1903:
Margaret was born on the Delaney home farm in Cronavone townland. Cronavone is in the church parish of Ileigh, a sub-parish of Borrisoleigh. Cronavone, Ileigh and Borrisoleigh are all in the civil parish of Glenkeen. Cronavone is a 463-acre townland situated on the side of a fairly steep hill along the north bank of the Clodiagh River about 7 kilometers west of Borrisoleigh. The house which is located below the road was built in the 1600s and was still in use in the year 1999.

According to family lore, Margaret's brothers, names and numbers unknown, went to America. Her father died in 1848 and circa 1853, Margaret, husband Michael and their children moved from Reiska onto the Delaney home farm in Cronavone.

The widow Margaret Hanly, 87 (her death cert listed her age at 90), died at home on a Sunday of heart disease. Her grandson Thomas Hanly was present at her death and was the informant on the death register.
