Biography* Ella E. Wood Walsh, 1880-1953:
Ella was born in Missouri to a father born in London, England and a mother born in Ireland. In 1880, the family was living at 711 Biddle Street in St. Louis. Her father was a stonecutter. In 1900, the father was living as a roomer at 1402 Collins Street in the 3rd ward. The mother, who had borne 8 children, 4 of whom were living, was living with Ella, at 1410 Ninth also in the 3rd ward. Both parents were listed as married. In 1910, Ella and husband Peter Walsh were living at 3904 North 11th Street in the 2nd ward. In 1920, at 3336 Blair Avenue, St. Louis. And in 1930, they owned a $5,000 duplex at 3107 12th Street in the 3rd ward. Their son William was renting one of the apartments.

The widow Ella, of 734 Baden Avenue, died on a Saturday at Barnes Hospital, St. Louis. She was 73 years of age (her death cert incorrectly lists her birth year as 1883). Cause of death was acute myocardial infarction and heart disease. Ella was attended by Dr. F. R. Bradley, Barnes Hospital. She was survived by two sons William and Edgar, a sister, and others. Ella's funeral was held on Tuesday from Holy Cross Church. Stock Mortuary, Grand and Florissant Avenues, was in charge of arrangements.

Biography* William Peter Walsh, 1904-2000:
William was christened on 04 October 1904 at Sacred Heart. In 1910, the family lived at 3904 North 11th Street in the 2nd ward. In 1920, they lived at 3336 Blair Avenue, a duplex. William's marriage to Florence Roth in 1927 was performed by the Rev. Joseph R. Watson and witnessed by Edgar Walsh (William's brother), Viola Murch?, Edw’d Quinn (William's cousin), and Margaret Holden. In 1930, William and Florence were renting half-a-duplex from his parents at 3107 12th Street in the 3rd ward. William became a police office in that year and retired in 1966 after 36 years. Most of his career was spent at the Penrose Station. William was considered an expert in mail robbery. He was a familiar figure on northern stretches of Grand Blvd - from North Market Street to the Old Water Tower. By 1953, he had risen to Sargent. William also headed the police detail at old Sportsman Park, home of the St Louis Cardinal's Major League baseball team. He was a lifelong member of Northside YMCA Businessman's Club, a charter member of the club St. Louis Hinder (handball) Club in the old Nationaql Guard Armory on Market Street. William was an active member of the St. Louis Police Veterans Assoc and the Pink Sisters' Legion of 1000 Adorers, a prayer group he joined in 1928.

William, a retired St Louis Police Sgt, died on a Saturday at his home in Bellefontaine Neighbors. He was 95. His wife Florence died in 1985. William was survived by a son, a daughter and two grandchildren. His funeral was held on Tuesday from Our Lady of Good Counsel, 1160 St Cyr Rd, Bellefontaine Neighbors. Calvin Feutz, 9480 Lewis and Clark Blvd was in charge. Memorials were requested to the Pink Sisters at Mt. Grace Convent, P.O. Box 5500, St Louis, MO 63147-0400.

Biography* Edgar Michael Walsh, 1907-1975:
Christened Michael Edgar Walsh, and referred to as Michael in his growing up years, by 1930 he was known as Edgar. He was christened by William Nugent with sponsors Michael P. Walsh and Agnes Eliz. Busche. At his birth, Edgar's parents were living at 3129 North 12th Street. In 1910, the family was renting at 3904 North 11th Street and Edgar's father Peter was a city policeman. In 1920, they were renting at 3336 Blair Avenue, a duplex.
In 1930, the family owned a $5,000 house, a duplex, at 3107 12th Street in the 3rd ward. Edgar's brother William rented half of the duplex from his parents. Edgar's 1938 marriage to Kathryn Courtney was performed by the Rev. Joseph R. Watson and witnessed by his brother William and Annie Diecknute. In 1953, Edgar was a Private in the St. Louis Fire Department and was livng at 1225 Gimblin Avenue. Edgar's first wife Kathryn died and he married Eleanor Kraus.

Edgar, age 67, died suddenly on a Saturday. He was survived by his second wife, two sons, a step-daughter, a brother and others. Edgar's funeral was held on Wednesday at Our Lady of Fatima. O'Sullivan Muckle Kron mortuary, 8806 Jennings at Hord Avenue, was in charge.

Biography* Peter M. Walsh, 1917-2006:
Peter was christened by the Rev. Joseph R. Watson with sponsors Peter Walsh and Lillie Muckerman. Peter grew up in the 3100 block of North 12th Street in the 2nd ward. In 1942, he enlisted as a Private in the U.S. Army at Jefferson Barracks, Missouri. Peter was 5ft-11in tall, weighed 174 lbs, was single with no dependents, had 2-years of high school and was working as an installer-repairman. He served in World War II and was discharged with the rank of Sargent.

Peter, a resident of Florissant, Missouri, died on a Sunday at age 89. He is buried with his wife.
