| Biography* | Mary Margaret Sullivan, 1867-1869: There is a tombstone in the family plot for a Margaret Sullivan, who died 5 Apr 1871, at age 1 year 6 months. There is no credible evidence that the Margaret buried there is not this Mary Margaret. This child is not listed with the family in 1870 suggesting that the death date on the tombstone may be incorrect. The death date has been computed assuming that the age at death on the tombstone is correct. |

| Biography* | Patrick Sullivan, 1862-1907: A first generation Irish-American, Patrick lived at 449 Prospect in Hudson's fourth ward after his marriage. He later returned to the family home at 330 State Street. Circa 1883, he went to work for William H. Traver & Son as a coachman. At about 5:30 p.m. on a Sunday, Patrick, 45, was found hanging in the barn behind his house. The grisly discovery was made by his mother-in-law Margaret Kane, who lived with the family and had gone to the barn to call him in for supper. Coroner Lisk ruled the death a suicide. Patrick had been at home all that day and seemed to be in his usual good spirits. His wife and daughter had gone to Lake Charlotte for the day and did not learn of his death until their return later that evening. No reason could be given for his rash act. |

| Biography* | John Toomey, 1868-1918: A first generation Irish-american, John was living in Lanesboro, Fillmore County, Minnesota by 1895. In 1900, he owned and operated the Merchant Hotel & Camp Site (for traveling salesmen) with seven boarders as well as a Blacksmith business. In 1910, he owned a farm and was farming. At the time of his death, he was a hotel keeper. And in 1920, his widow was a hotel proprietress. John signed a last will and testament on 20 October 1916, his sister Alice B. Toomey was named as trustee and executrix. The will was witnessed by James Galligan and J. A. French, both of Lanesboro. John died on a Monday at age 49. His obituary didn't note the fact that he had been the Mayor of Lanesboro, or that he'd been a Delegate for the Republican party, although since most of the family were Democrats that omission may have been intentional. John's will was approved for probate on 30 April 1919. |
