| Biography* | (twelfth) Pulvermacher, aft 1880-bef 1885: The existence of this child is inferred from the 1900 census and the mother's obit. According to the 1900 census, twelve children have been born, seven of whom are living. The mother's obit mentions that five children died in infancy, including twins. Children that died in infancy include: Philip, Catherine, Albert, Gertude, and this one, dubbed (twelfth). There are christening records at St. Luke's for Philip, Catherine and Gertrude - and none of those are recorded as multiple births. We have concluded that Albert and (twelfth) were the twins. If this be true, then (twelfth) died before the state census of 1885. |

| Biography* | Lawrence Pulvermacher, 1916-1989: There is a discrepancy on Lawrence's birth date. It is listed as 23 February in his obituary, as 23 March in his Social Security Record. Born in Plain, his parents moved to Boscobel in Grant County. He enlisted in the U. S. Army at Milwaukee on 16 April 1914. Lawrence had a grade school education, was single, and was working as an automobile serviceman. He continued to live and farm in Boscobel after his 1946 marriage. Lawrence, age 72, died at his farm home in rural Boscobel on a Monday of an apparent heart attack. He was survived by his wife, three daughters, five grandchildren, four brothers, and three sisters. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, and three sisters. His funeral was held on Thursday at Immaculate Conception Church in Boscobel with the Rev. Laverne Meier officiating. Pallbearers were Marvin Bolchen, James Farrell, Gary Farrell, David Pulvermacher, James Huebsch, and Mike Gruber. Burial was made with graveside rites by the Boscobel American Legion and VFW posts. |
