Josephine was living in Ethan, Davison County at the time of her 1905 marriage. She was a member of the C. D. A. for fifty years. Josephine, age 87, died on a Wednesday at the Good Samaritan Nursing Center. Survivors included one son, one foster daughter, 13 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, and one brother. She was preceded in death by five sons, five sisters, and three brothers. Funeral services were held on Saturday at Sacred Heart Church in Parkston with the Rev. Joseph Mardian officiating. Six great-grandsons served as pall bearers: Kevin Neuheisel, Douglas Callies, Greg Reiser, Wayne Reiser, Steven Uttecht, and Jeffrey Uttecht. | Biography* | Daniel S. Shea, ca1899-1948: Daniel was a first generation Irish-American. His father, a laborer for the city highway department, was born in Ireland. Daniel's mother was a first generation Irish-American herself who was born in Massachusetts. The family owned a mortgaged triplex at 24 Gage street in Worcester's 3rd ward. They occupied one apartment and rented out the other two. By 1920, they had bought, with mortgage, another triplex (unknown if they sold the Gage Street property) at 40 Kingsbury Street in the 8th ward. They used the same living arrangement where they occupied one apartment and rented the other two. Daniel worked as a freight clerk for the B & A Railroad for 31-years. He was a member of the Brotherhood of Railroad Trainmen and the Holy Name Society of Saint Paul's church. Daniel, age 49, died at his home, 40 Kingsbury Street, on a Tuesday. He had been ill since September 1947. Daniel was survived by his wife, two brothers, three sisters, and several nieces and nephews. His funeral was held on Thursday from McCrea funeral home, 921 Main Street, followed by high mass at Saint Paul's. |

| Biography* | Walter F. Sherman, 1893-1971: Walter was probably born near Howard in Miner County, South Dakota. His father was born in Iowa, his mother in Germany. The family was living in La Valley Township, Lincoln County by 1910. Educated through the 8th grade, Walter farmed in La Valley Township for all of his working life. A tall man of slim build with light blue eyes and dark brown hair, he was a member of the Congregational church. Walter, age 77, died on a Thursday of pneumonia and an enlarged heart. |
