Mabel, age 61, died on a Wednesday. She was survived by her husband, two daughters, one son, eight grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, fer father, one sister, and two brothers. She was preceded by her mother. Funeral services were held on Saturday from Saint Paul's Lutheran church in Deerfield. The Rev Gilbret Splett officiated. Olson-Holzhuter funeral home of Deerfield was in charge of arrangements.

Biography* William H. Ahern, 1861-1944:
William was a first generation American born of Irish parents. He was married twice. His first wife, Mary Igoe, was born in Rhode Island, also of Irish parents. William and Mary were married in 1898. In 1900, they were renting at 82 Spruce in Milford, Massachusetts and William was working as a stone contractor although he had been unemployed for three months that year. After Mary died, he married Catherine Leonard. When they were married in 1909, William owned a house free of mortgage at 19 Cherry Street in Milford. He was working as a millwright in a machine shop. By 1920, William was a machinist in a textile plant.
