Born in Ireland and married in England, Bedelia's daughter Violet was born in Ireland. At the time of her 1891 marriage, she was living at 90 Boswell Street in Toxteth Park, Lancashire County. According to family lore, Bedelia emigrated Ireland to her brother, the Rev. Joseph English, in the United States but have found no footprints there. Her daughter was in Saint Louis, Missouri with her priest uncle for a time and later lived in Bekgium.

Biography* Eileen English Hannefin, 1892-1976:
Eileen was born in the family home at East Beach, Cobh. Bridget Burke of Bishop Street, Cobh was the informant on Eileen's birth cert. She first came to America at age 22 with her brother the Rev. Joseph English. Eileen was 5-feet/6-inches tall, with pale complexion, brown hair, and blue eyes. They left Queenstown on 14 November 1913 aboard the SS Adriatic under ship's Master B. T. Hayes and entered the United States through the Port of New York on 22 November. Eileen returned to Cobh about two years later on the Saint Paul. And returned to the States, again on the Adriatic, arriving in New York on 02 September 1915. She lived with her brother Joseph as his housekeeper until her marriage in 1919. In 1946, she was kiving at 7254 Delta, St.Louis. In 1974, at 13016 Montmartre Drive.

Eileen died, the dat after her 84th birthday, on a Sunday at St Ann's Nursing home in Bridgeton, Missouri. She was survived by five daughters. The funeral was held on Wednesday from Saint Luke the Evangelist, Bellevue and Dale, Richmond Heights. Hoffmeister Colonial Mortuary, 6464 Chippewa at Watson in charge.

Biography* James English, ca1802-1877:
In 1856, James was leasing two lots in Glenbane parish, Shronell district, County Tipperary. One lot contained 18-acres/2-rood/30-perch of land which was valued at 19£ (nineteen pounds). There was a house on this lot valued at 15s (shillings) which James subleased to Patrick Heffernan. The second lot contained 32-acres/3-rood/26-perch of land valued at 32£/15s/0d (pennies) plus house and office valued at 2£. Total land holdings were 51-acres/2-rood/16-perch. The landlord was George Fitzroy Smith. By 1879, the leaseholder had changed to Margaret English. Presumably, James had died by this time. Control passed to son Patrick English circa 1891, and then to grandson Nicholas English by 1911. In 1916, the English family acquired ownership of this land but by 1924 they had sold the smaller lot to Patrick Coffey and the larger lot to Denis Quinn.

In the Tithe Applotments of 1833, the only English surname listed in Glenbane parish was Pat'k English. Presumably this is James' father since James named his first born son Patrick (it was customary for a man to name his first born son after his own father).

James died of cancer at age 75. He had been ailing for six-months.

Not a great deal is known about James. He was the fourth born of 17 born to Nicholas English and was the oldest boy. James emigrated to the U.S.A. circa 1890 at about the age of 22 and subsequently became a citizen. Married, he was living in Jersey City, New Jersey from at least 1906 to 1912 where his four children were christened. In 1910, the family was renting an apartment in a tri-plex at 41 Hudson Street in Jersey City's 1st ward. James was working as a fireman in a factory.

Nothing more has been learned.

In 1911, James was working as an accountant for the Cork County Council. He was listed in the census twice: with his parents; and with his own family. James, of Ivernia, Blackrock, Co Cork, died on a Saturday in Saint Patrick's Hospital at age 37 of pulmonary tuberculosis. He was survived by his wife and daughter.
