Biography* Patrick J. O'Connell, ca1873-????:
In 1911, Patrick was employed as a commercial traveller selling tea, wine and whiskey. The family occupied a public house on Evergreen Road in St. Nicholas parish in the south ward of Cork City. The house had stone walls, a slate roof, 11 rooms and nine windows in the front. It was rated as 1st classs. There were two out-bulidings; one shed and one store. Patrick, his wife Margaret and their four children all spoke Irish. Patrick's niece Kathaleen O'Connell age 12, his brother-in-law James Coleman and two boarders, a barmiad and a domestc servant, were living with him.

Biography* Mary O'Donoghue Coleman, 1855-1933:
According to family lore, Mary came from a shop or pub in Sallybrook, Rathcooney, Co Cork (Sallybrook is less than 2-miles north of Glanmire, Rathcooney, Co Cork). However, she was christened in Cobh, her likely place of birth. Have assumed that Mary's christening sposors, John Callaghan and Mary Donoghue were her uncle and aunt. She was a resident of Clifton Place, Cobh at her 1880 marriage. The witnesses were Michael J. Barry (of Cobh) and Ellen O'Callaghan (of Cork).

Mary, 77, of 17 West Beach, Cobh, died on a Friday of hemiplegia (from which she suffered for 5½ years) and cardiac failure. The informant on the death cert was her son William Coleman of the same address.
