Biography* Margaret Delaney, ca1813-1903:
Margaret was born on the Delaney home farm in Cronavone townland. Cronavone is in the church parish of Ileigh, a sub-parish of Borrisoleigh. Cronavone, Ileigh and Borrisoleigh are all in the civil parish of Glenkeen. Cronavone is a 463-acre townland situated on the side of a fairly steep hill along the north bank of the Clodiagh River about 7 kilometers west of Borrisoleigh. The house which is located below the road was built in the 1600s and was still in use in the year 2000.

The names of Margaret's parents are not known but we can make guesses based on the names she gave her own children. Her first daughter was named Mary, also the name of her husband's mother, and her second was Bridget. She didn't have a third daughter. If she and Michael followed typical naming conventions, then Margaret's mother was named Mary. Her first son was named James, the name of her husband's father. Her second son was named Cornelius, likely the name of her own father. Also, her husband had no known brother by that name. Her third son was named Michael, which is her husband's name. The fourth son, Thomas, was probably named after her husband's brother who died almost six years earlier.

According to family lore, Margaret's brothers went to America so her father (or mayhaps the brothers?) gave her the farm and that's why she and Michael Hanley moved to Cronovone from Reisk in circa 1853.

The widow Margaret Hanly died at home on a Sunday of heart disease. Her grandson Thomas Hanly was present at her death and was the informant on the death register.

Biography* Peter J Dolan, 1871-1929:
There is conflicting evidence on Peter's birth place. It is listed in one place as Ireland and in another as Illinois. There is not conflicting evidence on the birth places of the two children, John and Helen. If these are Peter's children, then he probably was born in Illinois. Peter was a Saint Louis policeman.

He died on a Tuesday at 3:30 a. m. Peter was survived by his wife, a son, a daughter, a brother and a sister. Peter's funeral was held from the residence at 6418 Lloyd Avenue on Friday at 8 a. m. to St. James Church. Peter was a member of the Funeral Association of the Saint Louis Police Deptartment, of the Holy Name Society at St.James, and of the Walker Jennings Post/Spanish-American War veterans.

Biography* William T. Duggan, c1896-1962:
William's father was a first generation American born to Ireland born parents. William's mother Emma was born in Missouri to a father born in England and a mother born in Pennsylvania. In 1910, William's father was an officer in a bank & trust company. The family rented at 4926 Maple Avenue in Saint Louis' 25th ward. On 19 June 1917, William, a resident of 5227 Raymond Avenue in Saint Louis, was inducted into the U.S. Army. He was assigned first to the Quartermaster Corp and later to Supply. He achieved the rank of Sargent in June of 1919.

William, about 66-years-of-age, was residing at 6601 Alamo Avenue at the time of his death. He died on a Saturday. He was survived by one brother. William's funeral was held on Wednesday from Saint Luke's. Arthur J. Donnelly parlors, 3840 Lindell Blvd was in charge of arrangements.
