She was survived by her husband, daughter, two brothers, a sister, and others. Bernice's funeral was held on Saturday at St. Jerome's Church, Bissel Hills. | Biography* | Blanche Walsh Mertens, 1883-1964: Blanche lived with her father at 3129 North 12th Street in St Louis 2nd ward in 1900. She was married three-years-later at age 20. In 1910, the couple was renting at the house where she had lived with her father (her father had bought a house in the same block). Her sister lived in the other half of the duplex. By 1930, John and Blanche were renting at 1812 Cora Avenue in the 22nd ward for $35/month. She was a member of St Anne's Guild Ladies of Charity. Blanche died on a Wednesday at age 80. Her funeral was held from Immaculate Conception Church in Maplewood, Saint Louis County. Krieshauser's South Funeral Home, 4228 S Kingshighway was in charge. |

By 1900, he was employed as a teamster working for his father. In 1914, James and Lillie Fleher were married by Jos. G. Westhues, assistant pastor of Holy Trinity. In 1918, when James registered for the draft, he and Lillie were renting at 3115 North 12th Street in the 2nd ward. James was described as a tall, stout man with gray eyes and dark hair. By 1920, he was a teamster boss. James, a resident of 1417 Farrar Street, died at his home on a Tuesday. He was 40 years of age. Causes of death were chronic int nephritis and uremia-black heart. He was attended by Dr. Luke B, Tiernan, 3718 Jennings Road. James' funeral was held on Friday from Our Lady of Good Counsel. Arthur J Donnelly Funeral Home, 2039 Wash Steet was in charge. |

| Biography* | Lillian M. Walsh Muckermann, 1878-1945: According to the church record, Lillian was christened as Bridget Elizabeth Walsh. Her sponsors were her mother's brother, Michael O'Brien, and his future wife, Catherine Flynn. Lillian's mother died in 1895 when Lillian was 15. Lillian continued to live with her widowed father at 3129 North 12th Street in Saint Louis 2nd ward until her own 1901 marriage. Lillian's marriage was witnessed by four people: Blanche Walsh (Lillian's sister), John Muckermann (groom's father?), Michael Walsh (Lillian's brother), and Katie Walsh (who is this?). In 1910, the family was renting at 3129 North 12th Street in the 2nd ward (the same address as her sister). In 1920, they were renting at 3107 12th Street in the 2nd ward. In 1930, they owned a $14,000 house at 7422 Florissant Road in Normandy, St. Louis County. Lillian, a resident of 7414 West Florisant Road in Normandy, died on a Thursday at age 55, five days before her 56th birthday. The causes were bronchial pneumonia and uterine cancer. She was attended by Geo. H. Klinkerfuss, 340 Bermuda Avenue. Lillian's funeral was held on Monday from St. ann's Church in Normandy. Cullen & Kelly Funeral Home, 4386 Lindell, was in charge of arrangements. |

Mike, a resident of 7744 Florissant Road and a clerk for the auto licensing department, died at home on a Wednesday at age 51. His death cert incorrectly reported his birth year as 1873 and his age as 53. The informant on the death cert was his sister, Mrs Henry Muckermann of the same address. Cause of death was reported as cellulitis of the face and chronic nephritis. The attending physician was Dr. Geo. H. Klinkerfuss, 334 Bermuda Avenue. At that time he is also listed as an unmarried head-of-household farmer in Town-4-North/Range-7 (Edwardsville P.O.) of Madison County, Illinois. His parents and three younger brothers are living with him. By 1880, he is living at 1871 North Main Street in Saint Louis 4th Ward, is married with four children, and is working as a teamster. Four hired-men teamsters, all single and Ireland born, are living with the family. Three of these hired-men are O'Briens and two of them are believed to be brothers and the third a brother of Peter's wife. A sister of Peter's wife, Kate O'Brien, is living with them also. By 1893, the family is at 3129 North Twelfth Street in the 2nd Ward and by 1910 at 3107 North Twelfth Street also in the 2nd Ward. Peter continues to work as a teamster and by 1910 has his own business. In 1920, his son-in-law is listed as the head-of-household. Peter was a member of St Michael's branch no.81, C. K. of A. Peter, age 69, died at home on a Tuesday. Cause of death was cirhosis of the liver. He was attended by Dr. Joseph Gill of 3636 Herbert. Peter was survived by four sons and three daughters. His funeral was held on Friday from the home and then from Our lady of Good Counsel. Undertaker Arthur J Donnelly of 2039 Wash Street was in charge of arrangements. |

In 1930, they owned a $5,000 home at 3107 12th Street (duplex) in the 3rd ward. His son William rented the other half of the duplex at $25/month and his brother William lived three doors away at 3119 12th. Peter, age 75, a resident of 734 Baden Avenue and a member of the St Louis Police Dept Veteran's Assn, died on a Wednesday at Christian Hospital of stomach cancer. He was attended by Dr N. J. Honich, 8902 Riverview Blvd. One of his surviving sons was a police sargent and another was a fireman. Peter's funeral was held at Holy Cross Church on Baden Avenue. |

William also headed the police detail at old Sportsman Park, home of the St Louis Cardinal's Major League baseball team. He was a lifelong member of Northside YMCA Businessman's Club, a charter member of the club St. Louis Hinder (handball) Club in the old Nationaql Guard Armory on Market Street. William was an active member of the St. Louis Police Veterans Assoc and the Pink Sisters' Legion of 1000 Adorers, a prayer group he joined in 1928. William, a retired St Louis Police Sgt, died on a Saturday at his home in Bellefontaine Neighbors. He was 95. His wife Florence died in 1985. William was survived by a son, a daughter and two grandchildren. His funeral was held on Tuesday from Our Lady of Good Counsel, 1160 St Cyr Rd, Bellefontaine Neighbors. Calvin Feutz, 9480 Lewis and Clark Blvd was in charge. Memorials were requested to the Pink Sisters at Mt. Grace Convent, P.O. Box 5500, St Louis, MO 63147-0400. |

| Biography* | William V. Walsh, 1887-1966: In 1910, William and family are renting at 3121 North 12th Street (a duplex) in St Louis 2nd ward. He is working as an oiler at the water works. In 1917, when William registers for the World War I draft, they are at 3119 North 12th. William has grown to be a tall man of medium build with blue eyes and black hair. He is a policman with the St Louis Metropolitan Police Force and claims an exemption from the draft because of his occupation. In 1920, they are renting at 3117 Twelfth Street in the 2nd ward, next door to brother James. By 1930, he and Sophie own a $4,000 house at 3119 12th St in the 3rd ward. His brother Peter is at 3107 12th. When William's first wife died in 1942 they were livng at 3119 Hadley Blvd, St Louis. William subsequently remarried. By 1953, he had risen to the rank of Detective in the Police Department. William was a member of the Holy Name Society, the St Louis Police Funeral Assoc, and the Police Veterans Assoc. William died on a Wednesday at age 78. His funeral was held from St Francis de Sales church. The Kutis Funeral Home, 2906 Gravios, was in charge. |

Her father Michael worked as a foreman at a construction company. Dorothy had three brothers - two older. A resident of 410 Millman, Ferguson, Missouri, Dorothy died on a Sunday. She was survived by her mother, husband, and one daughter. Her funeral was held from Saints John and James church, Ferguson. Stuart & Sons Chapel, Union and Page Blvd, was in charge of arrangements. |

Edward's funeral was held on Thursday from Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, 20th & Linton Avenues. Math Hermann & sonsl, Fair & West Florissant Avenue, was in charge. He is buried with his wife and her parents. |
