Biography* Patrick O'Brien, 1848-????:
Believed to have been born circa 1841. No christening recorded in Churchtown records. Patrick O'Brien, a full age bachelor farmer, son of Michael, and resident of Ballyhane, married Ellen Frawley, a full age spinster, resident of Lackeroe and, daughter of Thomas Frawley, a deceased farmer. The marriage was performed on 19 Feb 1876 by P. J. Savage with witnesses Michael O'Brien and Mary Frawley.

According to family lore, Patrick and Ellen came to the United States circa 1888 but returned to Ireland. Patrick apparently did not return to the home farm in Annagh when his mother died in 1894. But, by 1901, he and Ellen were living in Ballyhane where Patrick had been living at the time of their 1876 marriage. Patrick and Ellen occupied a four-room stone house with thatch roof and three windows in front. There were seven out-buildings housing at least one horse, two cows, calves, chickens, and pigs. They were both alive and living in the same place in 1911.

Biography* Leo Joseph Cody, 1912-1969:
There is a an unresolved discrepancy over the year of Leo's birth. The Social Security death index lists the year as 1912. At least two military records list it as 1913. According to family lore, he was named after Pope Leo XII. Leo grew up at 4525 St Ferdinand in St. Louis' 26th ward and 5261 Terry Avenue in the 20th. Leo was a Corporal in the U.S. Army during World War II. He enlisted at Jefferson Barracks on 7 July 1942. His education was listed as grammar school; his marital status as separated, with dependents; his civilian occupation wasn't listed. Leo was married twice. Neither of his marriages are listed in St Louis marriage index. Leo had a step-son from his 2nd marriage, Carl Peterson, who drowned at age 11. Leo lived in a number of parishes after the war. In 1947, St. Edward's; in 1949, St. Engelbert's; in 1953, St. Rose of Lima; in 1956, Most Blessed Sacrament.

Leo, 57, died on a Wednesday. He was survived by his wife, three daughters, and two sons. His funeral was held on Friday from Cullen & Kelly funeral home, 7267 Natural Bridge.
